Okay, it is November. NOVEMBER! Where did this year go?? I cannot believe that it has almost been a year since G~ came home. Time flies! I want to do a re-creation of my trip on the blog using photos and my aunt M~’s journal of our time in VN. I sure didn’t have time to do much of that when I was actually living it. I wonder if that would be of interest to all of you? Let me know what you think by leaving me a comment. I think it might be kind of cool to use her journal to jog my memory of the events and how I feel about them now, a year later. Not to mention the pictures. We took LOTS of pictures. December 15th is the one year anniversary of G~’s adoption.
Here is one of G~’s referral pictures:

And here he is at 18 months!

G~ does this funny face if you ask him to. He can see through his eyelashes and he knows he’s dang cute, so I just love these faces!

Here I told him to say “cheese”: LOL

This is G~’s first Halloween home. This was just a dream come true for me – taking my little boy out trick or treating!

S~ carved his very first pumpkin ever – not too shabby:
The rest of ours:

This is G~ with Ba (Vietnamese for Grandma) S~’s mom and Peanut’s biological grandma:

Out trick or treating:

This was what the sky looked like when we were out. Very cool.

The group ringing doorbells:

S~ and me.

I put some more pictures in a password protected post – pics of the rest of our group and the girls. We went out in S~’s mom’s neighbor hood and the kids had a blast. G~ caught on quickly to the whole idea. He would stick out his little bucket and get candy. Either S~ or I would carry him from place to place and he would carry his bucket. There was no getting him to let go of that thing either. If we tried to take it (since it was getting heavy for him) he would start yelling, “Mine! Mine! Mine!” He loves candy.

We are all recovered from the flu. Not fully – there is still lots of coughing from the kids, but things have returned to normal. S~ felt safe enough to come up again too.
I have some exciting news….my brother and his wife are expecting their first baby!!! I’m going to finally be an aunt!! I’m so excited! She just found out and is guessing that the baby will be born in June. The baby and G~ will be just over 2 years apart.
We tried to carve pumpkins last night…G~ was so NOT interested. I got part way through carving mine and G~ decided he had enough of watching us messing around with pumpkins – or “muhmuh” as he is now calling them (???). I gave up on carving mine and instead gave him his bath and got him ready for bed while the girls finished theirs with my sister. I had an online test due by midnight last night so after I got all the kids to bed I worked on that until 11:45 and never did finish my pumpkin. I’ll have to do it tonight and then I’ll post some pictures of our creations.
My blogging has been lagging lately due to school deadlines…and some others stuff that I will post about soon in a password protected post. Changes may be on the horizon for me…or not…who knows. It’s all good, so no worries.
This is what my “to-do” list looks like for this week:
Wish I could skip the first two items on the list. Ugh. And what is T~ going to be you may be wondering? Well, you’ll just have to wait and see! I’m going to have quite a wide array characters for this year’s trick or treating.

T~ got it. She came down on Friday with the flu symptoms we all had. They had me start her on Tamiflu right away – she is the one with Asthma, so I’m not messing around with this stuff. She seems to be doing pretty well so far so hopefully there won’t be anything more to it.
I don’t know when I’m going to see S~ again…he doesn’t want to get the plague we all seem to be passing around so he hasn’t been here in over a week. I missed 3 days of work this week too…I don’t have any vacation or sick time left because I used it all up when I stayed home with G after for 2 months after we got back from VN. Hope this is the last round of illness for us all until next year or later.
I finally feel good today. I actually started feeling better last night. I took the test that I was thinking about skipping and did better on it then I expected. I spent the day scrubbing counters and floors with disinfectant cleaners, washing bedding, rearranging the living room, and baking cookies. Little Susie Homemaker here, huh? I just want us all to get healthy. I don’t know how much the cookies will help, but whatever. They make the house smell good and the kids happy.
This is what G~ would do all day if I let him. He watches a SpongeBob video on youtube that has SpongeBob singing Sweet Victory. It is so strange that he loves it like he does. He asks for it all the time. The picture below is Mrs. Puff jammin out on her guitar. LMAO.

How’d ya like that title?
I feel like crap. G~ was feeling lousy last week. I got the first sign of a sore throat on Sunday night while giving him a bath. By Tuesday I had a fever and now Peanut is sick with the same stuff. We have gone through 4 boxes of Kleenex in 4 days. T~ is the only one of us who got a flu shot (due to the shortage) and she has not gotten this stuff yet. I pray that she stays healthy. I don’t know if it is the flu, but I looked up the symptoms online and I had all of them and A~ has all but one. Who knows.
Being sick makes everything worse. I want to drop that horrible class I’m taking. Did I mention that on here? I’m taking two classes – one normal one and one that is being taught by satan. Okay, maybe he’s not satan, but he is horribly unrealistic and strict. You screw up one thing on a paper and he fails the whole thing. I know – been there, done that. I think there were about 30 of us in the class to begin with and at last count there are 13 of us left. One of the other student’s advisors told her to have us all complain to higher-ups about what is going on, so we did. Now he hates all of us and nothing is changing. I would be out over a grand if I drop it, but It’s making me crazy and I just don’t care anymore. I normally get A’s and I’m failing his class – which should be an easy A. The class average on the last exam was a D-. He’s not grading on a curve either. There is another exam due tomorrow and I do not even want to take it. I don’t care about the money. I feel like on one hand I should just tough it out because I’ll have to take it again later (but not from this clown). But when I think about dropping it and the pressure that would be lifted, I feel so much relief. ARGGHHH!!!
I took G~ to church last Sunday. That in itself is noteworthy since I seem to be such a total slacker in that dept. Anyway, it was so precious. The choir was singing that day and at one point they sang Jesus Loves Me. G~ sat and listened to the whole thing, rocking to the music here and there. At the end the whole church was silent and G~ yelled at the top of his lungs, “YAY!!!” and started clapping. It was so cute!! I always feel like we should applaud after they sing anyway, so it was so refreshing to see his enthusiasm with the whole thing. He did that a couple other times during the service after they sang too. During fellowship I was sitting next to a choir member and she told me she had heard his cheers. So funny.
I’m going to post another picture here from our trip to Taylors Falls. I thought this was just a bad picture since just as I took out my camera T~ and G~ ran away, but then I noticed the girls in the background. What the heck? LOL
